Cons

Transfer Area vs Damp Forest

Transfer Area
Damp Forest
Details
  • Dense map filled with Stirges
  • Ranged class only
  • Best for 2-4 player parties
  • 3 Platform map that's good for 4 player parties
  • 2 Players share bot, 1 player mid, 1 player top
Pros
  • Only spawns Stirges, which have an incredible HP to Exp ratio
  • Higher Exp rate potential than Damp Forest
  • Drops important crafting materials like Iron Ore
  • Drops both Lemons and Blue Potions
  • Much less likely to get KSed because the map requires a 4 player party to be viable
  • Steady exp rate because you're less likely to get KSed
Cons
  • Was always full during CoT2 and will probably be packed during release
  • Competing for spawn can make Exp worse than Damp Forest
  • Mages and Archers might get KSed by Thieves
  • Must have a party of 4 to be viable
  • Slime and Octopus also spawns here
  • Repotting takes a while because the map is far from town
  • Drops are pretty bad

Ant Tunnel 1 vs Land of Wild Boar

Ant Tunnel 1
Land of Wild Boar
Details
  • Zombie Mushrooms, if you can mostly 1 shot them
  • Only the map's 2 best spots actually beat Land of Wild Boar's exp — the rest fall behind it
  • Wild Boar, Dark Axe Stump and Jr. Boogie, if you can 1 shot Wild Boar
  • Less exp than Ant Tunnel 1's 2 best spots, but better drops
Pros
  • Best exp in the bracket, if you’re in one of the map's 2 best spots and 1-shotting Zombie Mushrooms
  • Maya of Henesys questline can be run through Arcon’s Blood? before you even arrive
  • Better drops than Ant Tunnel 1
  • More of the map is worth farming, not just 2 spots out of the whole thing
Cons
  • Needs enough damage to mostly 1 shot — 2-shotting is worse exp than Land of Wild Boar
  • Only 2 of the map's spots actually beat Land of Wild Boar; the rest don't
  • Less exp than Ant Tunnel 1's 2 best spots
  • Jr. Boogie needs 82 ACC at level 35 (about 3 more per level below) to hit reliably

Level 33 - 45

Ant Tunnel 1

  • You must have the damage to mostly 1 shot Zombie Mushrooms to train here.
    • Transfer Area / Damp Forest is better if you’re unable to 1 shot

  • Grind at Ant Tunnel 1 until level 40 - 45
    • Upper mid or upper bot is best for exp. Check Map Details for more info

FAQ

Party vs. solo: the EXP math

Every kill’s EXP is split between whoever lands it (Killer Split) and everyone else nearby (Leecher Split), and the whole pool gets boosted by a Party Bonus based on party size.

Party SizeParty BonusKiller SplitLeecher Split
210%60.00%40.00%
320%46.67%26.67%
430%40.00%20.00%
530%36.00%16.00%
630%33.33%13.33%

Break-Even Solo Kill % is the share of kills you’d need to land yourself, un-partied and competing for the same spawns (100% EXP for your kills, 0% for anyone else’s), to match what partying gives you on every kill. Even Split is just your fair share of kills (1 ÷ party size); Delta is how far above that your personal kill rate needs to be, in percentage points, before going without a party pulls ahead.

Delta shrinks as party size grows, which makes it look like larger parties need less of an edge — but an even split is also a smaller number at larger party sizes, so the same point gap is actually a bigger relative jump. The last column controls for that: it’s how much faster than an average party member you’d need to be killing, as a percentage increase over an even split, before soloing pays off. Once the party bonus caps out at 4+ people, that relative bar stops moving — it’s the same +40.54% whether the party has 4, 5, or 6 people.

Party SizeEven SplitBreak-Even Solo Kill %Delta (pp)Kill Rate vs. Average
250.00%56.41%+6.41+12.82%
333.33%42.11%+8.78+26.32%
425.00%35.14%+10.14+40.54%
520.00%28.11%+8.11+40.54%
616.67%23.42%+6.75+40.54%

Example: two players are farming Stirges at Transfer Area, just the two of them on the map. You can kill 6 Stirges per wave; your partner can kill 4. You’re landing 60% of the party’s kills — above the party-of-2 break-even (56.41%) — so you’d come out ahead grinding here without a party.

If your partner picks up the pace to 5 kills per wave, your share drops to 6 ÷ 11 ≈ 54.5%, which falls under the break-even threshold — at that point, partying becomes the better choice for you.

1 shot vs 2 shot training

1 shot - generally more exp and mesos, but harder to manage uptime.

2 shot - higher & more consistent uptime.

Ex. 1 shot wild boar vs 2 shot cursed eye: Wild boar gives 46 xp per attack, Cursed Eye gives 33 exp per attack.

This guide focuses on trying to farm mobs that you can mostly 1 shot to maximize exp and mesos. I found that 1-40 you want to focus on 1 shotting because it provided the best xp rates and it was comfortable to upkeep pot cost. You also don’t need to wait till your 1 shot rate is 100% to start training on these maps. If your 1 shot rate is above 50%, you should be fine.

From 40 onwards, 2 shotting felt viable because the amount of mesos you got from each mob started to keep up with the increased mana cost of using 2 attacks to kill 1 mob.

How many people should be in my party?

I felt that party size varied from map to map. Ideally you want the most people in your party where everyone has similar mob count and the highest possible uptime per person.

Example - Ant Tunnel 1 farming: You can comfortably have 6 people in your party and have everyone take their own platform, but your xp rates won't be the best. This is because there’s 2 spots in the map that have a higher mob count than the remaining areas of the map. My group found that if you have a party of 2 taking both spots, you level significantly faster than leveling in a party of 6.

Are quests worth it?

Generally not worth focusing on, but perfectly fine if you’re doing them as you train. In most cases, quest exp ends up being ~1 min of training per quest. In my view, it’s best to only take quests that get completed naturally as you grind.
